FAQ

  • How much are your piercings?
You have so many options, therefore there is just as much variation in pricing. At Amulet, we do not require you to start with "basic" jewelry. Who wants to be basic, anyway? Because of the huge selection of different options we have for any given piercing, it is usually best to swing by our studio and discuss with a piercer what it is you’re wanting and looking for. Different piercings require different skill sets, therefore piercing prices vary as well. While some piercings may be a $15 fee, others can be $100 or more. Stop by to take a look at our menu of services and the largest selection of fine body jewelry Long Island has to offer.
  • Why is your jewelry the best?
Jewelry that is used for initial piercings is the highest quality in the industry: internally threaded titanium, niobium, or gold that meets ASTM standards for implantation (this means the jewelry is actually designated to be used in the body) or it meets the Association of Professional Piercers guidelines for initial jewelry (www.safepiercing.org/piercing/jewelry-for-initial-piercings). Amulet uses internally threaded ASTM F-136 implant certified Titanium or solid 14k and 18k gold (nickel free) for initial piercings. All of our jewelry is hand polished and free of nicks and scratches. All of our stones, lab created or genuine, are never glued. We disassemble each piece of jewelry, individually package and sterilize in a digital autoclave for your safety. Our manufacturers guarantee their work so if a piece breaks due to manufacturer defect, just bring it back in with your receipt and we will send it back and get you a new piece. Our clients health and safety and that of their piercings is our top priority, so we use the best jewelry quality available. Most places use steel. All piercings are performed by professionally trained piercers with over forty years of combined knowledge under their belts. We are the only piercing studio on Long Island that specializes in fine, jeweler-quality pieces for piercings, with choices including 18k and 14k gold, platinum, genuine or synthetic stones and custom settings. We are happy to work with our clients on building a one-of-a-kind custom piece. We realize this is almost never the cheapest way to serve our clients, but we feel it is always the best.
  • Do you pierce children's ears?
We do! A consultation with the parent and child is required prior to piercing so that we can determine if the minor is a good candidate for healing piercings. We schedule consults and appointments for children.
  • Do you use a gun?
Absolutely not! We do not use piercing guns because they can’t be sterilized, they are traumatic to the tissue and the jewelry used with guns does not meet ASTM guidelines.
  • How old do you have to be to get pierced?
That depends on which piercing you want to get. 18 is the age you need to be without parental consent, we will do certain ear and facial piercings on minors under 18 with parent or legal guardian permission and the proper documentation. Below is what you need to bring with you to your piercing appointment. If you have any questions don't hesitate to call us at 631-207-4653.
